Sacred Body Awakening

Sacred Body Awakening is one of the most beautiful and transformative methods for spiritual healing, creating a much deeper understanding and connection with our bodies and sexuality. But for many of us growing up this was not our experience, ours was one with guilt and shame around our bodies, and that sex was only for procreation or recreation when married.

Many of us have now let go of these limited views around sexuality and our bodies, and have replaced this with much healthier ways of being sexual, but there still remains deep unconsciousness conditioning, which permeates out into nearly all of our relationships with family, friends and loved ones, creating separation and disempowerment.

Sacred Body Awakening is a way to address these limiting views and behaviours, by bringing more consciousness to our sexuality and love making, understanding how important it is to be fully present to ourselves & lovers. The origins of Sacred Sexuality as we know it today is mixture of Indigenous Shamanic sexual rites of passage, Ancient Temple Arts and Tantra. One of the strongest influences has been Tantra, which has its origins in India going back 5000 years, It is a Hindu philosophy and spiritual path, that includes all aspects of one’s life not just sexuality.

Tantra as a spiritual path continued to evolve and spread from the plains of India to Tibet, where it integrated with the Bon Shamanic culture and developed into Tibetan Buddhism, and eventually arrived in the west in the late sixties. There are many forms of Tantra both Hindu & Buddhist , but the main area’s that deals directly with balancing spirituality and sexuality, is pink and red Tantra from the Hindu philosophy, which now in the west would be called Neo Tantra, the key area here is balance, bringing unity between our masculine and feminine energies within us, also working with removing any sexual blocks and trauma that may be stuck in the body or energy centres, which are called charka’s, this allows one’s life force energy to move more freely bringing much need healing and integration. When working with the charkas, what can also become active is ones kundalini energy, which when channelled consciously can bring one into profound states of bliss, rapture and a sense of oneness with all things.

The session starts with talk therapy getting a sense of the person’s story around themselves and their sexuality, finding out how they relate to their bodies and their relationships with other’s past or present. This is where ground rules and boundaries are discussed and set, all done in complete confidentiality as well as developing a therapeutic relationship between us.
Once we have established what you need support and healing with, we can then work out what is the best approach, often there will be number of different techniques outlined and we can choose one that we agree is best for you. A Session may be either a talking session and or a experiential session. A lot of the techniques involve doing energy work, with the body as well as using sensual touch with Tantric massage, sessions can be fully clothed, part clothed or naked, that all depends on what the client wants and needs. This is where women or man can heal and be supported by a Healthy Masculine, which creates safety, witnesses without judgement and is in a place of loving presence. The most important part of Sacred Body Awakening, Is that the women/man knows they are in control of the session at all times, if for whatever reason one feels uncomfortable or unsure about something, then Glenn will create the space for that to unfold, nothing happens in session that is not discussed with the client first, “No means no, maybe means no, and yes means yes until you change your mind”. Glenn has very healthy boundaries in this area, this is a space where sacred healing can take place. The session will only close, when you have processed all they need to on the day and then you can share anything about the session you wish to.
